Happy Easter

Bobby was locked up this morning after threatening to kill a number of cops. He was taken away in handcuffs but I'm sure it's going to end up being a good thing. Once he's locked up hopefully he get back on his needed drug regiment. I'll be happy if he ends up in a home where he can be cared for. He's had a hard month and we've had a hard month contending with his deterioration.

Al and Tony are headed to Jersey, their grandson will be driving their towncar.
Yael and Fernando have brought great news to the block and Anna is turning 2 tomorrow.
DJ Urban is about to rock gay nightclubs right after his day job.

A group of people walked by in amazingly beautiful outfits for a Cinco de Mayo/ Easter parade and celebration brought from Mexico. Starting at 17th and Dickinson and ending at 4th and Washington. The outfits were in the vein of string bands or New Orleans Indians.

While getting coffee I found out that most people at the coffee spot have no idea what Easter is, myself included. Does Jesus come back as a ghost? It's confusing to everyone to there and none of us can quite figure out the resurrection.

What is Easter?

Origins, meanings, and practices of Easter

You obviously haven't seen the 70's film Ruling Class with Peter O'Toole.
In this movie Jesus comes back as Jack the Ripper and becomes a lot more popular as a result.
This is also one of the few times in modern cinema that the song "Dem Bones" is performed in the style of a Hollywood musical.
I saw Janine Antoni, a recent Guggenheim Fellow, speak at Moore College of Art recently. She expressed her life-long interest in Catholicism and the Virgin Mary in particular. Frankly I found this slavish devotion of a contemporary American artist to the Earth's largest real estate consortium a great deal more mystifying than the resurrection.
