I need to organize about 20 billion photos and my images are randomly scattered on about 10 billion hard drives. Any suggestions?

I have a very good idea.

What software are you using now?

get them on one xHDD, like one of these http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=210. from there, you'll have to use something like Aperture, Lightroom or Bridge to start organizing in some manner. maybe it's a matter of what you've used already or not used. what's good v bad. i put them into folders by date and rate photos for easier sorting. then i create folders for jobs/projects. but that's just me

It would be helpful to develop a good strategy. It may take some time to set up, but once you've done it, it will make your life much easier. I use Lightroom and a product called Microsoft Expression Media, which isn't made anymore, but you can use Extensis Portfolio which I think is similar:

This allows you to make thumbnail images of all your photos, where ever they are, even if scattered across many hard drives. You can have a look at Peter Krogh's book and website:

Finally, drop me an email and I can discuss in greater depth if you'd like.

Yes, I need a good strategy. That's actually the most important part because I am a disorganized mess. Thanks so for the offer... I'm taking you up on it Mr. Lipkin!
